The most expensive Presidential elections have finally ended with a clear winner being announced immediately unlike the last time when there was considerable confusion and delay before the final result was declared. Also when the popular votes and the electoral votes go in favour of different candidates, as happened last time, then the victory is not clean. This time, thankfully, there was no such doubt. Americans have clearly voted for change. The land of opportunity has also signalled that race will not limit your opportunities.
The new President is expected to bring genuine new thinking into the White House. Hopefully, it will now act much more responsibly, particularly, in its lone policeman role. It will work for genuinely representative United Nations, particularly, the Security Council.
Obama sounds much more humble compared to previous presidents. Hope, the power doesn't corrupt him. Congratulations and best wishes to Obama! We in India need similar Young Blood. Maybe we should go to Kenya not just to view its wildlife but to scout for tomorrow's leader.
